Construction
AAC is a concentric-lay-stranded conductor consisting of aluminum alloy 1350-H19 wires available in both single-layer and multi-layer constructions.
AAAC - All Aluminum Alloy Conductor
Application
Used as bare overhead conductor for primary and secondary distribution. Designed utilizing a high-strength aluminum-alloy to achieve a high strength-to-weight ratio; affords good sag characteristics.
- AAAC conductors are extensively used for overhead distribution and transmission lines adjacent to ocean coastlines where there can be a problem of corrosion in the steel of an ACSR construction.
- The aluminum alloy conductors are used in replace of single-layer ACSR conductors to reduce power loss in overhead distribution and transmission lines, when replacing the aluminum conductor steel reinforced , the AAAC can save 5-8% of the construction cost.
- AAAC referred to have higher strength but lower conductivity than pure aluminum Being lighter, alloy conductors can sometimes be used to advantage in replace of the more conventional ACSR.
Standard
ASTM B399, BS EN50183, BS 3242, DIM 48201, IEC 61089
ACSR - Aluminum Conductor Steel Reinforced
Standard
ASTM B 232, BS 215 Part 2, IEC 61089, DIN 48204, etc.
Construction
ACSR is a concentric-lay-stranded conductor consisting of a single core wire or a stranded steel central core with one or more layers of 1350 H19 stranded aluminum wires. The steel core wires are protected from corrosion by galvanizing, aluminum-clad alloy or zinc-5% aluminum mischmetal alloy coating. Standard, high, extra and ultra high strength steel is also available.
ACSR / AW - Aluminum Conductor Aluminum Clad Steel Reinforced
Description
The aluminum conductor aluminum clad steel reinforced uses the aluminum clad steel as its core part and high purity aluminum as conductor. It features corrosion resistance, low resistance (LR), high tensile strength and so on. It is used for power transmission lines with large span length and high power. In addition to the conventional stranding, the ACSR/AW has one-layer or multi-layer reinforced conductors that are made of aluminum clad steel wires. In different widths of aluminum conductor steel reinforced, the aluminum conductor aluminum clad steel reinforced has its inner part made of aluminum clad steel, with the aluminum wires stranding around the core in a spiral manner and according to a certain rule.
Application
Having the advantages of corrosion resistance, high electric conductivity, etc., the ACSR/AW is ideal for overhead power transmission lines. With huge market potential, it is used for high-voltage overhead transmission lines installed under highly corrosive environments, electric railways, and so on.
Standard
ASTM B 549, etc.
ACS - Aluminum Clad Steel Wire (Alumoweld)
Application
The aluminum clad steel wire is widely used in long-span transmission line, coastal areas and island as well as other hot and humid regions, salt fog regions and heavily polluted regions where the high corrosion resistance strand is needed.
It is used as the core of ACSR/AW, overhead ground conductor, extra high voltage overhead conductor, optical fiber composite overhead ground line, self-damping conductor line, bare overhead conductor, OPGW, ground wire, messenger wire, guy wire formed wire for protecting, terminating and splicing transmission and distribution lines, fence, barber wire and hardware, etc.
Construction
Product 6: ACSS - Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported
Aluminum clad steel wire is a kind of bimetallic wire that aluminum covers on the steel core continuously and evenly. Compared with ordinary aluminum cable steel reinforced, the conductor weight is 5% lighter, current-carrying capacity is 2-3% higher and power loss decreases 4-6%. Thus, the service life is long and it adds none erection cost.
ACSS - Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported
The aluminum conductor steel supported is a composite concentric-lay stranded cable. It is formed by the coating of one or more layers of aluminum alloy wires which are made of the 1000 series aluminum 1350-0 and the core cable which is made of steel. It is used in overhead distribution and transmission lines. The heat treatment of annealed tempering softens the aluminum coating, thus the steel carries most or all the mechanical load. The steel core may contain 7, 19, 37 or more wires. For the use in ordinary environment, class A zinc coating is usually adequate.
Standards
ACSS conductors are manufactured according to the requirements of the most recently applicable issues in ASTM specification B856.
Product 7: ACSS / TW - Aluminum Conductor Steel Supported-Trapezoidal Wire
Application
Aluminum conductor steel supported-trapezoidal wire is widely used in overhead distribution and transmission lines. This product has the special design of equal area and equal diameter. The equal area design enables equal capacity to go through smaller diameter conductor compared with a standard ACSS conductor. The equal diameter design allows more capacity to go through an equal diameter conductor compared with a standard ACSS conductor.
Construction
The aluminum-clad or zinc-5% aluminum mischmetal alloy coating protects the steel core wires from corrosion. High, extra and ultra high strength steels are also available. Non-specular finish can be used in all ACSS products.
ACAR - Aluminum Conductor Aluminum Alloy Reinforced
ACAR - Aluminum Conductor Aluminum Alloy Reinforced
Application
The aluminum conductor aluminum alloy reinforced is an excellent conductor choice where current carrying capacity, higher strength and lower conductor weight are critical to the line design.
Standard
ASTM B 524, IEC 61089, etc.
Construction
The ACAR is made of round aluminum 1350-H19 wires and round aluminum-alloy 6201-T81 core wires for use as overhead electrical conductors.
AACSR - All Aluminum Alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced
Description
Compared with the conventional ACSR, the all aluminum alloy conductor steel reinforced features high tensile strength, light weight, sound creep resistance and good sag property. When setting up lines, our AACSR can help to reduce the iron tower height, enlarge the span length, and lower the cost.
Application
The all aluminum alloy conductor steel reinforced is used for the power transmission lines with large span length installed under various severe weather conditions like snow, ice, storms, and so on. AACSR offers optimal strength for line design. Variable steel core stranding enables the desired strength to be achieved without sacrificing ampacity.
Standard
ASTM B 711, IEC 61089, DIN 48206, etc.
TACSR - Thermal Resistant Aluminum-alloy Conductor Steel Reinforced
Application
The TACSR (thermal resistant aluminum-alloy conductor steel reinforced) could withstand high tensile load to be used mainly for overhead transmission lines, overhead distribution wires.
Construction
The center wire or wires are of galvanized steel and the outer layer or layers of thermal-resistant aluminum-alloy. TACSR conductors are very similar in construction to a conventional ACSR conductor, but the EC Grade aluminum wires are replaced with hard drawn aluminum wires of heat resistant aluminum alloy (generally known as TAL).
GSW - Galvanized Steel Wire ( Galvanized Steel Strand )
Applications
The galvanized steel wire strand is used for overhead ground lines or electrical power transmission lines. Stay or guy wire strands are produced for use with poles, towers, or any other form of guying.
Galvanized steel wire strand in multi-core electrical cables. Its low cost and ease of production makes galvanized steel wire ideal for mass produced corrosion resistant wire products. It is an indispensable industrial, agricultural, and DIY fastening and reinforcement standard.
Construction
Concentrically stranded Galvanized steel wire strand available in class "A", "B" and "C" galvanizing, "A" being the least heavy and "C" being the most heavy. Manufactured without welds per ASTM A-363 or with welds per ASTM A-475. Strands are formed to remain substantially in place when severed.
Zinc-coated grade of steel strand wire /guy wire
